ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
MONDAY 29 APRIL 2024

Doors Open at 6.30pm for 7.00pm start
at the VILLAGE HALL, DOWNDERRY

Downderry and Seaton Residents Association invites local residents to attend its AGM to hear an update from DaSRA on issues of interest to the community.  The AGM give members the opportunity to vote for a new Management Committee. Laura Done, who has chaired DaSRA for the last  six years is stepping down from that role, and will be seeking election to the Management Committee for the coming year alongside two new members.

As the village embarks on significant investment projects, DaSRA has invited guest speakers to update residents on

DOWNDERRY STORES

When the owners of Downderry Stores announced the shop was closing on 4 September 2023, DaSRA convened a public meeting on 17 July when residents voted for a Steering Group of local residents to be formed to assess the viability of a community shop opening in Downderry. An important first step was to gather the views of residents on if/how they would use and/or support such a shop so a questionnaire was delivered to every household in the Deviock parish. This Survey will remain available for responses for some time to come - click below to respond.

ts first months, the Steering Group has developed its own website, Facebook and email system and a bi-monthly Newsletter , with funding from DaSRA's Community Fund. In Jan 2024, Downderry Community Shop was formally registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Mutual Benefit Society. Negotiations continue to secure a potential site that could accommodate a community shop. Click here to read  the latest developments

A range of alternative sites in Downderry have been set up to offer essentials - newspapers collections; a range of groceries: post office outreach service; Nut Tree newsletter: Paul Bray Butcher delivery. Click here to find details
