Our Beach

Running between the two villages, Downderry & Seaton Beach offers a mix of sand, shingle and rock pools with far‑reaching coastal views. Whether you’re walking the tide line, watching the waves or settling in for a peaceful moment by the sea, it’s a relaxed, welcoming stretch of coastline enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Serving both villages, the Community Bus offers an easy and reliable way to reach local towns and amenities. With volunteer drivers and a friendly atmosphere, it’s a valued service that keeps our community moving and ensures everyone can get out and about.

Seaton Valley Country Park

Seaton Valley Country Park is a peaceful green space where wildlife, water and woodland come together. With accessible paths, ponds and plenty of places to pause, it’s a lovely spot for slow walks, birdwatching and enjoying the natural beauty of the valley. A calm, family‑friendly place to explore at your own pace.

Seaton Play Park

Tucked beside the green, Seaton’s Children’s Play Park offers a fun, safe place for children to run, climb and play. With a mix of equipment for different ages and a friendly, open feel, it’s a popular meeting point for local families and visitors enjoying a day by the sea.

Created and cared for by local volunteers, Seaton’s Butterfly Garden is a charming space designed to support wildlife and brighten the village. With flowers, shrubs and sheltered corners, it’s a welcoming place to wander through and spot butterflies, bees and other garden visitors.

Tanver Yate

Set just above the village, Tanver Yate is a well‑kept green with benches, open space and far‑reaching views. It’s a favourite place for dog walkers, families and anyone looking for a gentle, relaxed spot to enjoy the outdoors.

Woodland Trust

The Woodland Trust woodland is a tranquil stretch of native trees and leafy paths, offering a refreshing contrast to the beach and open coast. With birds, wildflowers and peaceful corners to explore — including a small summer house tucked among the trees — it’s a beautiful place to wander throughout the year.

The Twinning Association links our villages with our French twin, creating opportunities for residents to meet, visit and learn from one another. With social events, exchange trips and community projects, it’s a friendly, welcoming group that brings people together across borders.
